Not trying to creep on lil bona x's corner

This Hofstra team, like Akron, lost quite a bit from a great team. They lost Desure Buie and Eli Pemberton, however, they still have talent, probably more known contributors than the Zips
Bona03 said it best though. Jalen Ray and our good friend Tareq Coburn are easily the biggest offensive threats. They beat Monmouth 96-88 in Jersey yesterday. Ray had 29, Coburn 28. It was Hofstra's fifth game (3-2), but Monmouth's first. Ray and Lofton will face off at point guard like Lofton and LCJ just did, however it appears to me (especially looking at last year) that Ray isn't as good as LCJ. Coburn kind of plays the same 3/4 tweener role that Adaway had, which is still baffling to me because
Adaway looked bigger then I expected for s 6'5" player. I think f Coburn stayed he could have been a starter his JR and SR season, Thst being said like you I'm happy for him an that it seems like things are working out for him at Hofstra. Also if he stays who knows what current player ends up going somewhere else.Coburn kind of plays the same 3/4 tweener role that Adaway had, which is still baffling to me because wasn't he a 2 here? Anyways, happy for him that he's been a key part of potentially the CAA champion, but I don't think he'd crack our starting 5.
I was hoping for a little Roberts today, really hoping he’s ready for Amherst.Thank god for Lofton....off game for Holmes....Adaway continues to impress...Shaw did a couple of good things but team really staggered with Osun out.
Again: Winston and AJ do nothing, beyond the latter's key 3-pojnter, and you have to cringe every time they touch the ball. They should be playing even less (if that is even possible for Schmidt to trust them less) which brings up: Roberts not in enough shape to play, say, 3 good minutes each half? All you'd need today. Team was awful when starting 5 not on floor. But we'll take the win.
I do like these but it's all in the interpretation. The obvious conclusion is Shoon being out was an issue. But he came back in and they lost the rest of the lead and further.. went down 5. We're too talented [apologies BR] for a stretch like that. Figure it out. University AT Buffalo is coming. Litmus test. They're good but not tournament caliber. No moral victories, this is one that needs to be in the books. Otherwise. "They are who we thought they were!"
Oh yeah, res, I like that. It's based on the data provided by Clausewitz in "The Campaign of 1812 in Russia." Napoleon had 301,000 troops at the beginning of the campaign, 90,000 when he entered Moscow, and was down to 13,000 by the time the remnants collected behind the Vistula. Irrelevant posts of graphs with interesting data are always a welcome exception to thread discipline.View attachment 239
I just wanted to add a graphic that I could actually decipher. It's me, not you.
Winston has looked terrible. He’s a net negative on defense and on offense he tries to do too much. He’s catching the ball and immediately trying to score — even if he’s beyond the arc. Is he the new ayeni? No. But the criticism isn’t without evidence. So I see some have picked Winston as their player to rip this year. There is always one. The kid is good, he needs to improve in some areas mentioned but hes a Soph and will be a difference maker.
BI, who is Univeristy at Buffalo? My scheudule says the Bonnies play SUNY Amherst next.
It was nice to see Lofton get a few breathers. It is important to keep him fresh. Also, Shoon is the MVP of this team. When he is out we really struggle on defense. His ability to stay on the floor will always correlate with our ability to win.
