Ebrahim Kaba Signs with Bonnies in Early Signing Period

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure has announced the signing of Ebrahim Kaba, a 6’9″ wing out of The Peddie School in New Jersey. He chose Bona’s over offers from Richmond, Fordham, North Texas, Northeastern, and UC Santa Barbara, according to Joe Tipton of On3.

He played for Gill (N.J.) St. Bernard’s last season ahead of suiting up this year for The Peddie School.

Kaba is the first signee of head coach Mark Schmidt’s 2024 recruiting class. He verbally committed to join the Brown and White shortly after an official visit in September. He fits the ideal 3-and-D archetype that every team covets. His long frame allows him to shoot the ball at a high rate over the top of defenders.

“He’s an athletic, highly skilled scoring wing who can really rebound,” Schmidt said in a St. Bonaventure news release following the signing. “He fits our system and is a great kid who has been well coached. He has a tremendous shot with range; he can knock down the three. We are looking forward to getting him on campus and welcoming him into our program.”

He will slide in next to the younger talent on the Bonnies roster to provide an additional threat on the wing, creating space on the floor by knocking down shots from the perimeter. The highly coveted recruit held offers from 30 schools, including Bonas, according to

“The relationship with [St. Bonaventure] is good and they have a great track record,” Kaba told 247sports during his recruitment process. “The coaches believe in me and they have a plan for me and my game. They also showed me what they will do to get me better and to the next level.”

Bonnies fans can expect to see Kaba in the Brown and White next season. Until then, here are some highlights of Schmidt’s newest signee.
