Atlantic 10 Sunday Preview: A showdown in St. Louis

Game of the Night

George Mason Patriots vs St. Louis Billikens 3 PM ET (NBCSN)

We know this isn’t the most intriguing matchup, but it is the only A10 game on tap. The Patriots (6-11, 0-4 in A10) will travel to St. Louis (6-10, 1-3 in A10) looking to get their first win in the A10. Both teams are desperate for a win, it will be interesting to see how it plays out in St. Louis

The Patriots are led by their backcourt tandem of Otis Livingston and Marquise Moore. Moore is averaging 11.7 points per game along with 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Livingston, a freshman, is averaging 11.5 points with 2.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists. The Patriots haven’t been shooting too well from three, 28% and will look to improve. If the Patriots can step it up from three, they’ll get their first win in conference play.

The young Billikens are led by their only senior, Ash Yacoubou, who is averaging 11.6 points per game and 5.6 rebounds. Along side Yacoubou is Miles Crawford who is coming off a 16 point performance against Duquesne. Crawford is averaging 10.8 points per game. The Billikens defense is forcing 13.4 turnovers per game, and if they can force early turnovers it will be a long day for the Patriots.

Both teams need a win desperately. George Mason hasn’t done too well on the road, losing 14 out of their last 15 road games. St. Louis hasn’t done too hot at home, dropping 1o of their last 17 home games. With both programs in rebuilding mode, it should be interesting how it turns out. This game is really up for grabs, it will come down to who wants it more.
