PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Duquesne Dukes (1-2, 0-0 A10) blew an 11-point lead just after halftime and fell to the Weber State Wildcats (2-0, 0-0 Big Sky) 63-59 Monday at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
Koby McEwen scored 21 points for the Wildcats while Dillon Jones grabbed 13 rebounds to go with his 12 points for a double-double. Jackie Johnson III had 18 points in the second half for the Dukes, and was 4-for-8 from the three-point range, for a total of 27, while Kevin Easley was held scoreless in the second half. Those 27 points were the most off the bench by a Duquesne player since Jordan Stevens in 2014.
Duquesne finished the game 6-for-22 from the three-point range. Tre Williams and Primo Spears combined to go 0-for-6 from beyond the arc and Kevin Easley nailed just one of his three attempts.
Head coach Keith Dambrot talked about how disappointed he was with the close loss.
