I get ya, Bill. But SBU is pretty much the only A10 program that has experienced this type of turnover. His retention in the portal era has been awful and that's on him.I’m pretty much at the point of not caring anymore. The whole system is completely fucked.
I'm getting there too - the NBA is a more enjoyable product at this point because despite the lack of effort night to night, at least you can expect your favorite players to be around for a while.I’m pretty much at the point of not caring anymore. The whole system is completely fucked.
The character of the guys you bring in (rent) for year 2 will matter more than ever now. Maybe chalk this year up to a learning experience.Yeah 3rd, I think i's because getting guys who have 3+ years at this point is a nonstarter. If we bring in 3 freshmen like in 2018, they wont be there for 4 years, and that's not unique to this staff. I'll hammer the staff and coach as much as anyone, but retention is lower on my list of concerns right now given the revolving door across the sport.
I think the staff's new approach is exactly what we just saw, i.e reload every two years. Clean or mostly clean slate in year one, retain who matters, bring in filler upgrades, go all in on year 2, repeat.
Moses refuses to accept that his college career is over. He asked about this “extra year” at SBU over and over again, but was told he unequivocally should not be granted another year of eligibility. There is no basis for his petition, but here we are.Moses Flowers in The Portal is the news I need to get me through the afternoon.
