For the second day in a row, Duquesne has officially lost a member of their starting lineup. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports has reported that sophomore Nakye Sanders has been granted his release from the university. The 6’8 forward started 21 games for the Dukes this season, and averaged 5.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Sanders lead Duquesne in rebounding this year, and grabbed a season high 16 boards in a 64-60 loss against Robert Morris in December.
Duquesne’s Nakye Sanders has been granted his official release, per a source. Two years of eligibility remaining.

Sanders joined teammates Isiaha Mike and Mike Lewis II when he requested his release from the university after head coach Jim Ferry was fired. Mike was granted his release from the program yesterday, and Lewis tweeted that he will be announcing his decision regarding his future with the program tomorrow. Duquesne’s frontcourt is now very thin and it appears 6’8, 245-pound Jordan Robinson will be the only big man to return with the team next season.
