Bamisile transferred to GW after his freshman season at Virginia Tech. During his lone year at GW, Bamisile averaged 16.3 PTS, 5.0 RBS, 1.3 AST, 1.2 STL, 1.0 BLK, and had a 35.1 3P%. He was also voted a member of the All-Conference 3rd team. Highlights include scoring a career high 30 PTS in GW’s 3OT victory over Duquesne on March 3 and nailing the game winner against George Mason on Jan. 17.

Bamisile helped lead GW to their most successful season in the past five years. GW finished 12-18 overall and 8-9 in Atlantic 10 play. They secured the 7th seed in the conference tournament before bowing out to UMass in the second round. Against UMass in the A-10 tournament, Bamisile led GW in scoring with 25 PTS.
Bamisile was also one of the most exciting and physically gifted players Foggy Bottom has ever seen. He was always interacting with the crowd, showing emotion, and just having fun on the court. Bamisile’s dunks were truly jaw-dropping. Anytime he had the ball in his hands in transition, something special was going to happen.

The news of Bamisile’s entrance to the transfer portal came less than 24 hours after reports of Head Coach Jamion Christian being fired. Bamisile and Christian appeared to have a close relationship, but it is unclear whether or not the two events are related.
Even though Bamisile has entered the portal, there is still a chance he can return to GW. Notably, last season George Mason star forward Josh Oduro entered the transfer portal after former Head Coach Dave Paulsen was fired. However, current Head Coach Kim English was able to convince him to return.
When asked about Bamisile’s decision, a representative from the GW Men’s Basketball Team declined to comment.
