In a press release late Thursday night, Fordham Athletics announced that Antonio Daye Jr. will be departing the team and university effective immediately. Personal reasons have been cited for the Junior Guard’s departure, and the University announced that no further information will be released regarding the subject.

In his first year with the Rams, Daye averaged 16.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. Daye had been a centerpiece of this year’s Fordham team, scoring the game winning layup against Duquesne Wednesday night to give Fordham their first 2-0 start ever in Atlantic 10 play.

Fordham’s full statement regarding the situation can be found here.
