Lynn Greer commits to Dayton – Flyers Add to Top 25 Recruiting Class

Grant KellyBy Grant KellyFebruary 15, 2021No Comments2 Mins Read

Dayton’s strongest recruiting class in program history added more muscle on Monday morning as Lynn Greer announced his commitment to the Flyers. A shifty 6’3″ three-star point guard who’s able to finish through contact and shoot the rock, Greer will provide Anthony Grant with yet another weapon at guard. As a senior at Roman Catholic high school in Philadelphia, Greer averaged 18.2 points per game and finished First Team All-Catholic. Despite holding offers from numerous schools last year, the dynamic scorer decided to play a prep season at IMG Academy due to his youth. Now, after growing his game and receiving offers from the likes of Villanova, Florida, Iowa, and a host of other high level programs, Greer will be playing college basketball for the Dayton Flyers.

Greer’s announcement adds to the abundant hype of Dayton’s 2021 recruiting class, which was already top 25 in the nation prior to his commitment. Greer joins four-star forward DaRon Holmes, four-star wing Kaleb Washington, three-star point guard Malachi Smith, and rising three-star forward Mustapha Amzil in the Flyers’ 2021 class. Furthermore, it looks like Greer is already doing his best to recruit IMG Academy teammate Efton Reid – a 6’11” five-star center and top 25 player in the class of 2021. With five players already committed, Reid seems like a long-shot, but the fact that it’s even a possibility is exciting for Flyer fans.

Although this season has been tough to watch for many Dayton fans, there’s no denying the bright future of the Flyers. Anthony Grant is bringing in a level of talent rarely seen at Dayton or in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers will have more than enough talent to try for a deep NCAA tournament run within the next couple years. Now the focus shifts from turning the talent on paper into production on the court.
