This was quite an unusual week for the A10. By that, I mean there were hardly any upsets or unusual results. The most exciting game of the week by far was Rhode Island and UMass, with the Minutemen taking down the Rams in OT. Sweet, sweet revenge for UMass after last year’s game in Amherst. A rivalry between Rhody and UMass keeps building more and more every year.
The other result that was kind of unusual was George Mason completely dismantling La Salle by 33 points. Many saw Mason winning this game, but by that large of a margin was surely a surprise (and don’t call me shirley).
Other than those two, every game went as expected. VCU picked up a win on the road at George Washington, Dayton actually put up two solid performances in a row over Duquesne and George Washington, UMass and St. Bonaventure dominated Fordham, Davidson beat down La Salle, and Rhode Island had a comfortable win over George Mason.
This week should provide some quality games and result in some movement in the standings. Prepare for chaos. Also, welcome back Saint Louis!
