Welcome to A10 Talk’s postseason Top 25 player countdown where we’ll be breaking down the best players in the Atlantic 10 this past year, as voted on by our staff. Each day, we’ll release a new article as we unveil our list. Today, we start with #22 Nick Honor of Fordham

What he did

Though Fordham couldn’t help but finish 14th in the conference this past season, Nick Honor was a star freshman for the Rams who ended up making the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team. Honor was a pivotal piece to Fordham’s puzzle last season, averaging 15.3 points and 3.0 assists per game for the Rams. Honor was a big key in some of Fordham’s crucial wins, including a home victory over Rutgers where he dropped 30 points and 6 assists. The freshman also logged 19 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds in an overtime road win over Rhode Island, likely Fordham’s biggest conference win of the season.

Nick Honor was an enormous contributor as a freshman, and it was clearly expected that he would step into a major role under Jeff Neubauer. Having lost some significant contributors the prior season, Fordham was in desperate need of scoring, and Honor provided an immediate patch. He proved he could do just about everything when he was on the floor in his first collegiate season.

What he’ll do

Nick Honor unfortunately announced his intentions to transfer from Fordham, meaning the Rams will be without his services next season. This isn’t particularly surprising, as most of Fordham’s best payers have gone on to greener pastures after playing a few seasons in the Bronx. Honestly, this is an enormous problem for the Fordham program, and it falls on Jeff Neubauer’s shoulders. Wherever Honor ends up for his sophomore season, we wish him nothing but the best.
