Welcome to A10 Talk’s postseason Top 25 player countdown where we’ll be breaking down the best players in the Atlantic 10 this past year, as voted on by our staff. Each day, we’ll release a new article as we unveil our list. Today, we start with #21 Otis Livingston II of George Mason.

What he did

Otis has been the face of George Mason basketball for what feels like the better part of a decade, yet it is hard to believe it has only been four short years in Fairfax. This is a player that has left an unmistakable mark of the program at Mason, the likes of which draw no obvious comparison. Most players who are held to the level of estimation of Otis brought NCAA Tournaments, A-10 titles and so on, back to their schools. While he never quite got to that level of on-court success at GMU, this is a player that is so beloved by the Patriots’ fanbase, that we may not so a player like this for a long time.

This season, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. Otis finished his his run at Mason with 1,865 career points, which is fourth all-time at George Mason. In addition, he is first all-time in career free throw percentage, shooting 85.7% throughout his four years at Mason. In almost every single notable statistical category at GMU, you will find Otis Livingston II somewhere near the very top.

What he’ll do

The impact that Otis leaves on the program is unmistakable. In four years, he took the program from a 10-win season to 20-win and 18-win seasons in two of his final three years. While the NBA is no doubt the goal for Livingston right now, should that not work out, he is bound for a successful professional career somewhere. Otis is a phenomenal leader and is the type of guy to put a team on his back and carry them for several games at a time. That bodes very well for long-term success at the next level, no doubt about it.
