Atlantic 10 Bracketology – February 19, 2019

Grant KellyBy Grant KellyFebruary 19, 2019No Comments2 Mins Read

Welcome to A10Talk’s series of Atlantic 10 Bracketology. Throughout the year we’ll be providing updates on where teams stand in regards to making the NCAA Tournament. Lets take a look at this week’s edition.

On The Bubble

VCU (19-6, 10-2)

Following a resume boosting win at Dayton, VCU seems to be comfortably inside the NCAA tournament bubble right now. Winners of seven straight games, the Rams return home this week for contests against Rhode Island and George Washington. If VCU wants to remain comfortably inside the bubble, the Rams need to win both of these games. A loss in either may not knock VCU out of the tournament, but it would certainly put a dent in its resume (a loss to GW even more-so than a loss to URI). Should the Rams take care of business this week, they can head into the final stretch of the regular season feeling quite good about their at-large chances.

Last Life

Davidson (19-6, 10-2)

Bouncing back with wins over Fordham and Saint Joseph’s last week, Davidson has a couple more make-or-break games this week. Battling Dayton on Tuesday night, Davidson desperately needs to take advantage of the opportunity and pick up a solid win. With no quality non-conference wins on its resume, Davidson must prove its able to beat the A-10’s best teams. So far, the Wildcats have done just that. Already downing the likes of VCU, George Mason, Duquesne, and Saint Louis, Davidson could use a win against Dayton to help avenge two bad losses. Following the match-up with the Flyers, Davidson will travel to Rhode Island for a battle against the Rams. Unable to afford mistakes heading into the home stretch, the Wildcats must claw their way, game by game, back into the at-large conversation.

Best of Luck in Brooklyn

Dayton (16-9, 8-4), George Mason (15-11, 9-4), Duquesne (17-9, 8-5), Saint Louis (17-9, 8-5), Saint Bonaventure (11-14, 7-5), La Salle (6-16, 6-6), Rhode Island (12-12, 5-7), Richmond (10-15, 4-8), Saint Joseph’s (11-15, 4-9), George Washington (7-18, 3-9), Fordham (11-14, 2-10), UMass (9-16, 2-10)
