Atlantic 10 Wednesday Preview and Predictions

Game of the Night: Rhode Island at Alabama | 8:00 ET | SEC Network

Riding high coming off a 75-68 victory over Providence, Rhode Island travels to Tuscaloosa for one of its toughest challenges of the season. Taking on a talented Alabama team, the Rams will have to find a way to slow down potential NBA lottery pick Colin Sexton. In order to neutralize Sexton, Rhode Island will need a strong showing from senior guard Jared Terrell. Leading the Rams while E.C. Matthews has been sidelined by injury, Terrell has been outstanding so far this year. Averaging 18 points to go along with three assists, three rebounds, and two steals per game, Terrell has been doing all he can to keep Rhody rolling. If Rhode Island wants to leave Tuscaloosa with a win Wednesday night, the Rams will need Terrell to get things going and lead the way.

After being nationally ranked for the first two weeks of the season, Alabama is facing its first bit of adversity in the young season. Dropping two of their last three games, the Crimson Tide have fallen out of the AP rankings and are in need of a win. Alabama came up short in a narrow 65-62 contest its last time out against UCF. While the Tide are certainly talented, Rhode Island might be catching them at the perfect time. If the Rams can start strong on Wednesday night, they could very well cause Alabama to start pressing mentally and only increase its struggles.
