Atlantic 10 Thursday Preview and Predictions

Game of the Day: La Salle vs Drexel

Just around thirty minutes away, Drexel will make the short trip to La Salle University to face the Explorers. Both teams are coming off hard fought wins, and will look to continue the winning tonight. Here are some keys to look for in this one.

Drexel is a guard oriented team, and led by transfer Tramaine Isabell, who can light it up on the scoreboard. In their last game against Rider, Isabell scored a career-high 35 points, leading his team to victory. Averaging 22 points a game, Isabell is one of the more dynamic scorers in the CAA, and he will definitely have confidence heading into this one after his last performance. It will be up to the Explorers to come up with a way to slow him down. His matchup with Pookie Powell will be interesting to keep an eye on.

For the Explorers, who have yet to lose at home this season, the key could be finding a third scorer to emerge to assist the dynamic duo of Pookie Powell and B.J Johnson. The Dragons do not have great depth down low, so expect Tony Washington to possibly have a breakout game today. He showed some good signs in their last game against Holy Cross, gathering 10 boards, and posting 8 points

The Explorer’s next game is against Villanova, and they would like to build their confidence with a win today heading into that one on sunday. In the end, these two teams should make for a very even game, and it should be a fun one to watch.

My Prediction: La Salle 72, Drexel 67
