Atlantic 10 Monday Preview and Predictions

David BorneBy David BorneDecember 4, 2017No Comments2 Mins Read

Game of the Day: Maryland Eastern Shore at Duquesne | 7 ET | Atlantic 10 Network

Quiet Monday night in the Atlantic 10, so this game wins the “Game of the Day” title by default. The Dukes come into this matchup on a three game losing skid, but the odds are in their favor tonight. UMES stand 3-5 on the season and are ranked #340 in the nation by KenPom.

Mike Lewis II is starting to heat up and freshman Eric Williams Jr. is emerging into a dangerous offensive weapon as well. Plus, graduate transfer Chas Brown is finally healthy and the Dukes now have more help under the basket. Duquesne’s leading scorer, Rene Castro-Caneddy, was held scoreless against Pitt on Friday, but I expect him to get back on track tonight. UMES has given up an average of 83 points per game, and even Duquesne’s limited offense should find a way to be successful. Keith Dambrot’s strategy of throwing easy opponents on the schedule hasn’t worked as well as he would’ve liked so far, but I can’t see Duquesne dropping this one.

Prediction: Duquesne 78, UMES 63
