Saint Joseph’s Charlie Brown will miss some time with a wrist injury

More injury news strikes the A-10; this time, it’s Charlie Brown of Saint Joseph’s. The Hawks’ sophomore will reportedly be out a few weeks after a fracture he sustained in his left wrist during practice. Brown underwent surgery this past Tuesday.

This is obviously not good news, especially considering Shavar Newkirk has yet to be cleared fully. He, along with a number of other Hawks, suffered injuries last season that restricted Saint Joseph’s severely. Though there’s not an exact timetable for Brown’s return, it’s likely he misses a couple games at the start of the season.

Kenpom expects the Hawks to win their first few games of the season, but a lot of that will ride on the health of Brown and Newkirk. None of those first 3 games will be gimmes, and it”s never easy to have to play two true road games to open up the regular season. The Hawks better hope Brown is back by November 23rd, as they’ll have some important games in the Wooden Legacy.
