4 star forward Jermaine Harris chooses Rhode Island over Xavier

Grant LabedzBy Grant LabedzOctober 6, 2017No Comments2 Mins Read

The Rams landed their biggest recruit since Jared Terrell in 2014; Jermaine Harris has committed to Rhode Island. Harris plays high school ball at Rock Creek Christian Academy in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He chose Dan Hurley and the Rams on Friday over Xavier and West Virginia, two big name schools in the running.

Harris becomes Rhode Island’s 4th commit from the class of 2018, and he’s by far the biggest. Jermaine Harris is 6-9 and weighs in at 220. His big body and long frame will be enormous for a team that lost Hassan Martin and Kuran Iverson last year. In 2018-19, the Rams will lose a plethora of guards, but they’ll replenish with guys like Jermaine Harris and some up-and-coming forwards in their frontcourt.

Rhode Island may have another commit in line as well, as 2018 PG Brendan Adams is expected to make his college decision on Sunday. Should he choose Rhode Island, the Rams could be looking at a very promising 2018-19 season. Whether or not Dan Hurley sticks around is the real question at stake.

Four-star, top-100 forward Jermaine Harris has committed to #URI. Selected the #Rams over Xavier.
