VCU received a commitment from JUCO transfer Corey Douglas on Sunday. The freshman from Louisville, Kentucky averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds for the Rice Owls. After Mike Rhoades’ decision to take the VCU job, Douglas was planning on transferring to the junior college level, where he’ll spend a season with Tallahassee CC. Then, he’ll join the VCU Rams in the 2018-19 season.

Douglas is 6-8 and weighs in at 190 pounds. He played just 17.2 minutes per game but shot 85.0% from the field. The Rams have done a nice job reloading their frontcourt after the losses of Mo Alie-Cox and Ahmed Hamdy-Mohamed. Douglas becomes the 4th transfer to commit to Mike Rhoades and the VCU Rams this offseason.
