Former Quinnipiac head coach Tom Moore was hired as an assistant for Rhode Island on Tuesday. Moore was fired from Quinnipiac after a 10-21 season with the Bobcats. Moore was a former assistant coach under Jim Calhoun at Connecticut, and he’s respected as a successful recruiter in college basketball.
Tom Moore will be joining Danny Hurley’s staff at URI as assistant coach, sources told ESPN. Was a big-time recruiter back in day at UConn.

Moore should help the Rams in recruiting moving forward. The Rhode Island Rams are moving things in the right direction, making the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the turn of the century last season. Now, Dan Hurley and company are making good hires and finding ways to make Rhode Island a successful college basketball program. The Rams should be the favorites to win the Atlantic 10 in 2017-18.
