Mike Rhoades picked up another commitment to his newly-inherited VCU Rams today, securing North Carolina 2017 guard, Tyler Maye. Maye made the announcement Wednesday morning, choosing VCU over the likes of Nebraska, Kansas State and Dayton.
Listed as a point guard by most recruiting sites, Maye brings another big-time scoring guard to VCU’s roster, averaging 36 points this past season, a year after averaging 25 as a junior on a state champion team.
Maye becomes the fourth member of VCU’s 2017 class, joining bigs Sean Mobley, Marcus Santos-Silva and Lewis Djonkam. He becomes the sixth fresh face to join the Rams overall, as Rhoades and Co. secured transfer commitments from Longwood’s Khris Lane and Rice’s Marcus Evans as well.
