Duquesne’s Isiaha Mike granted release to transfer

It was announced on Sunday per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports that Isiaha Mike’s request for a release from Duquesne has been granted. The freshmen will leave the program after averaging 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game with the Dukes. Mike earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team along with Mike Lewis II.

Duquesne transfer Isiaha Mike tells me that he has received his official release. Will have high-major interest. Long line for this one.

Mike is one of many Duquesne players who has decided to leave after the release of former head coach Jim Ferry. Isiaha Mike and Mike Lewis II had both requested release from the program before the hiring of new head coach Kieth Dambrot from Akron. Lewis II has not officially transferred out of the program yet. While Mike’s departure is disappointing for Duquesne, it’s going to take some time to rebuild and reload under a new system. Mike should be a valuable transfer who could end up being a star at the mid-major level.
