2017 point guard McKinley Wright backs out of commitment with Dayton

Grant LabedzBy Grant LabedzApril 7, 2017No Comments1 Min Read

Per his Twitter page on Friday, 3 star point guard McKinley Wright has backed out of his commitment with Dayton. Citing the coaching change as the trigger, Wright has decided to explore other options. Wright expressed that he still plans to consider Dayton, but he’s also going to keep other schools on his radar.

Wright is a 3 star recruit according to Rivals.com and was Mr. Basketball in the state of Minnesota. The Flyers still have 4 signed recruits from the class of 2017. Anthony Grant will now have an open scholarship to fill with a new recruit or a graduate transfer. If Dayton doesn’t find a replacement at the point guard position, John Crosby will be the only true 1 on the Flyers’ roster next season.
