According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, Duquesne has agreed to a 7 year deal with Akron’s Keith Dambrot. This is big news for a team that’s been struggling to find a head coach and has been losing players left and right. Dambrot led the Zips to a 27-9 finish in the MAC, and despite missing out on the NCAA Tournament, it was a pretty successful season for him. Unfortunately for Dambrot, two of Duquesne’s best freshmen recently transferred out of the program, and he’ll have a lot of work to do before this team takes the court next November. But at the end of the day if you’re a Duquesne fan, you have to feel relieved that your team hired a head coach.
