Atlantic 10 Sunday Preview: George Washington hosts a surprisingly 2-0 Richmond

Grant LabedzBy Grant LabedzJanuary 8, 2017No Comments2 Mins Read

It’s a relatively quiet Sunday for Atlantic 10 hoops, but there’s a good double-header for your viewing this afternoon that’s worth checking out. Here’s a rundown.

Richmond vs. George Washington | 12 ET | George Washington -5.5

Perhaps one of the most surprising things we’ve seen in A-10 play is an undefeated Richmond team through 2 games. After a brutal non-conference sate, the Spiders have gone on the road to take down Davidson and then handled Fordham at home. Today’s game at George Washington won’t be easy. Tyler Cavanaugh and company were able to take down Davidson the other day after splashing 11 three pointers. One thing to keep an eye on will be rebounding. The Colonials are a much better team on the glass on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. This should be a fun battle between two studs in T.J. Cline and Tyler Cavanaugh. My Pick: George Washington -5.5

Davidson vs. Saint Louis | 2 ET | Davidson -14.0

Davidson is in need of a conference win. The Wildcats are 0-2 and have lost two close games that could’ve gone their way. Regardless, this team shouldn’t have much of an issue taking down one of the worst teams in the nation in Saint Louis. The Billikens rank 321st overall according to Kenpom and also rank very low in a number of statistical categories. I have yet to see this team show up in conference play, and I don’t think it’s going to magically happen today. My Pick: Davidson -14.0

Grant’s Picks Record: 6-2-2
