Less than a week after Dayton received their first commitment of the 2017 class, the Flyers have added another recruit. Jordan Pierce, a 6’11” big man out of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, just announced he will attend the University of Dayton. Pierce attends Union Catholic Regional High School where he has emerged as a basketball star. In his junior season playing for the New Jersey Road Runners, Pierce averaged nearly eight points, six rebounds, and one block per game. His size and athleticism should help the Flyers greatly. Factor in his hard work ethic with rapid improvement, and Pierce looks like the perfect addition to Archie Miller’s team

Pierce joins shooting guard Jordan Davis as the second member of the Flyer’s 2017 class. Despite receiving offers from Seton Hall, Temple, Monmouth, and many other schools, Pierce chose Dayton, describing his visit as “perfect.” When Pierce starts his Flyer career next year, he will join 2016 commit Kostas Antentokounmpo as the tallest player on the roster. Both standing nearly seven feet tall and possessing remarkable athleticism, Pierce and Antetokounmpo could pose a highly intimidating big man combo to opposing teams.
