Player Profile
Kostas Antetokounmpo is a 4-star forward out of Wisconsin. Standing 6’9″ and weighing 190 pounds, Antetokounmpo was highly sought after by programs like Iowa State, Memphis, St. John’s, and others. According to Scout, Antetokounmpo is a top 100 recruit and the #21 player at his position. He is also rated the #2 player out of the state of Wisconsin. One thing worth noting is Antetokounmpo’s family history when it comes to basketball talent. His older brother Giannis Antetokounmpo is a NBA star for the Milwaukee Bucks. Known for his incredible athletic ability, Giannis has earned the nickname the “Greek Freak.” Another one of the Antetokounmpo brothers is Thanasis who has some basketball talent of his own. Thanasis was drafted 51st overall by the New York Knicks in the 2014 NBA Draft and now plays in the developmental league. Judging by his high school highlight real, it looks like Kostas shares some of the same basketball talent and freakish athletic ability as his older brothers.

Potential Impact
Antetokounmpo not only has a very bright future, but should bring a lot to Archie Miller’s team right off the bat. Along with Sam Miller, Antetokounmpo will be the tallest player on Dayton’s roster for the 2016-17 season. Antetokounmpo’s incredible athletic ability helps him block shots, grab rebounds, and throw down monster dunks. Not only that, Antetokounmpo is a skilled ball handler and passer. Factor in his nice shooting touch and it definitely looks like the young Antetokounmpo could be a major contributor to the True Team. While he might not start immediately, the Greek Freak 2.0 will play valuable minutes and have his opportunities. One can certainly expect this member of the Greek U20 national team to fly high for the Flyers in Dayton.
