2017 shooting guard Jordan Davis commits to Dayton

Grant KellyBy Grant KellyAugust 27, 2016No Comments2 Mins Read

With the 2016 recruiting class in the books, the Dayton Flyers recently received a commit that jumpstarts their 2017 class. According to multiple sources, Jordan Davis verbally committed to the Flyers on his visit to Dayton Saturday. Davis is a 6’4″ 180lb shooting guard out of Irmo, South Carolina. With 17 total offers, Davis was a rather highly sought after recruit. Rivals, in fact, rates him as a 3-star prospect. Davis will finish up his senior year at Dutch Fork High School before joining Archie Miller and the Flyers.

As his highlights show, Davis can do some of everything. A true combo guard, Davis handles the ball very well but also displays a special ability to shoot off the dribble. He should fit in well with the current Flyer guards and help with replacing guys like Scoochie Smith, Kyle Davis, and Charles Cooke. Davis chose Dayton over schools like Butler, Miami (FL), Pitt, Va. Tech, and many others. By joining the True Team, Davis is certain to get the most out of his college career. With a coach like Archie Miller, Davis should develop into the best player he can be while contributing to some big Flyer wins.
