2017 recruit Jordan Goodwin commits to Saint Louis

Grant LabedzBy Grant LabedzAugust 13, 2016No Comments2 Mins Read

The Billikens landed a huge commitment on Friday when Jordan Goodwin of Althoff Catholic High School decided he’d be playing for Travis Ford next season. The 6-4, 220 lb. rising senior is from Belleville, Illinois, a town just east of St. Louis. Goodwin is a 4 star recruit who ranks 53rd in ESPN’s Top 100 recruits for the Class of 2017. He also ranks 2nd for players in the state of Illinois. Goodwin committed to the Billikens over a number of solid programs including Illinois, Butler, Missouri, and Creighton. His final two schools were Saint Louis and Northwestern.

Travis Ford’s team just added another dimension to a dangerous looking 2017-18 Billikens squad. Transfers Adonys Henriquez, Javon Bess, and D.J. Foreman will all be available at the start of the next season, and they’l be joined by a dangerous backcourt threat in Jordan Goodwin. The SLU commit averaged 19.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists his junior year, and he led his high school team to a state championship; mind you, he still has yet another year to develop further. As a dynamic guard that can score, rebound, and pass, Jordan Goodwin has a chance to bring Saint Louis back into the NCAA Tournament and beyond.
