It was announced on Wednesday by CBS Sports that La Salle and Mercer would start a home-and-home series in the 2016-17 non-conference season. This year’s game will be played at Hawkins Arena in Macon on December 22nd, and the return game will be played in Philadelphia next season.

La Salle will start a home-and-home series with Mercer on 12/22, source told @CBSSports. Return game in Philadelphia during 17-18 season.

The Mercer Bears finished 19-15 (8-10 Southern) last season and played two A-10 opponents along the way. They took down George Mason 69-60 but lost to Davidson 71-77. You may remember Mercer from it’s Cinderella upset over Duke back in 2014. La Salle will be locked and loaded with a ton of transfers for next season, and the Explorers are expected to be one of the better teams in the conference.
