Davidson added some depth to its coaching staff on Thursday with the hiring of UC Irvine’s Nick Booker as an assistant coach. Booker is an alum of Davidson College and played under Bob McKillop before graduating in 2004. The Wildcats bring an alum back home with this addition which should be a great get for Bob McKillop and company.

Booker has been with the UC Irvine program for the last 7 seasons and was promoted to assistant coach back in 2011-12. The Anteaters made the 2015 NCAA Tournament after winning the Big West Conference Tournament. They lost narrowly in the opening round to Louisville as a 13 seed. Booker coached Mamadou Ndiaye, the 7’6″ star center for the Anteaters. With NCAA Tournament experience and deep routes within the school, there’s no doubt that Nick Booker will turn out to be a great hire for the Davidson Wildcats.
