CBS Sports reported that Saint Louis will host Samford as part of its 2016-17 non-conference schedule. The Billikins have made a lot of offseason changes, including hiring a new head coach in Travis Ford, former head coach of Oklahoma State. Saint Louis is adding a lot of new talent in terms of transfers and recruits, most of whom are going to have to wait a year before they get to see the court for the first time.

Samford finished with a below average 4-14 record in the Southern Conference last season and won’t look to be too much better as they lose their top scoring option in Darius Jones-Gibson. This should be a great tune-up game for Saint Louis early in the season before it tries its hand at what could be a very tough and talented Atlantic 10 Conference in 2017.
