It was announced on Tuesday that Rhode Island assistant coach David Cox would be promoted to Associate Head Coach in the program. Cox is entering his third year with the Rams and has already made some fantastic contributions on the court as a coach and off the court as a recruiter. His D.C. ties have helped the Rams immensely on the recruiting trail.

There has been nothing but praise for Rhody’s new Associate Head Coach, and it seems that the elevation was well-deserved. Head coach Dan Hurley said that Cox will be a head coach in the near future. As for Cox’s current position, it seems as if the elevation couldn’t have come at a better time. The Rams will likely enter the 2016-17 season as a pre-season Top 25 selection, and they’ll undoubtedly be in contention for the A-10 title this season.
