On Friday, sources reported that George Washington transfer Matt Cimino has committed to American University. The 6’10” forward redshirted this past season due to a foot injury he suffered early in the year. He only scored 10 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in 56 minutes his freshman season. Though he hasn’t seen much court time in his first two years in college, he has a high ceiling and will certainly make an impact at American.

The Colonials don’t have a lot to show in terms of depth in the frontcourt, but the recent addition of Patrick Steeves from Harvard should help. Cimino joins Paul Jorgensen (Butler) as recent transfers to commit to other schools. George Washington’s roster will be going through plenty of changes next season as they’ll lose a lot of seniors but will also bring in quite a few freshmen.
