A10 Talk Top 25 Countdown: #16 Jordan Price

Graham HootenBy Graham HootenMay 28, 2016No Comments2 Mins Read
Welcome to A10 Talk’s Top 25 Player Countdown. Each day, we publish a new article counting down the 25 best players in the Atlantic 10 this past season. Today, we feature #16 Jordan Price.
The 2015-16 La Salle Explorers were all but carried by Jordan Price. Coming off a stellar sophomore season, Price returned better than ever for his junior campaign, putting up big numbers for a team that desperately needed them. While La Salle may not have made great strides this past season. Price did so himself and consequently has earned his name a spot in A10 Talk’s top 25 countdown of the 2015-16 season.
Best Performances
Price’s season (and career) high in points came earlier last year in the non-conference when he dropped 37 against Hofstra on 15-22 (68.2%) shooting. He was an electrifying 7-13 (53.8%) from three-point range, but the Explorers trailed the entire game and were unable to escape with the win.
Another top performance we saw from Price came on March 9th in his team’s 88-73 victory over Duquesne in the opening round of the A-10 tournament. Price put up 36 points and a season-high 12 rebounds, shooting 5-12 from beyond the three point arc and 5-5 from the free throw line. He also broke his own record for most points in an A-10 tournament game by a La Salle player, which previously stood at 28.
Key Stats
37.7 minutes per game. Seriously. Price played the third highest percentage of team minutes for a player in the nation this past season, and played all 40 minutes in 14 of La Salle’s games. Price defined a workhorse, and was the reason that the Explorers were even able to win nine games. He was apart of 29.1% of his team’s possessions this season, which ranked 41st in the nation, and took 31.1% of his team’s shots, also 41st in the nation. The bottom line is that Price carried this team from start to finish, with little to no help from anyone else.
 Team Effort
La Salle finished dead last in the A-10 this season, compiling a dreadful record of 9-22 (4-14 in conference play). They ranked 262nd in KenPom and failed to make the NCAA tournament for the third straight season. Price was the one upside to an otherwise disappointing season that saw the Explorers post their worst win total since 1997.
