Each week, A10 Talk’s staff ranks each team in the Atlantic 10 conference (1-14) based on where they believe each team places overall. Each team’s ranking is averaged, and A10 Talk creates a compiled ranking to represent the site. 13 different contributors vote in each week’s rankings. 1. VCU Rams (Avg: 1.20)
VCU moves up into the 1 spot this week after winning 1 of the 2 games it played. The Rams lost a brutal road game to George Mason but rebounded in a huge way by winning at George Washington. They’re now 13-3 in conference play and 21-8 overall. This week, the Rams will play Davidson at home on Wednesday and then go on the road to take on Dayton on Saturday in a very crucial matchup.
2. St. Joseph’s Hawks (Avg: 1.80)
St. Joseph’s jumps up into the 2 spot this week after winning both games it played. The Hawks took down Massachusetts on the road and then returned home where they beat Saint Louis. They’re now 13-3 in conference play and 24-5 overall. This week, St. Joseph’s will have a battle with St. Bonaventure in Rochester on Wednesday before returning home to take on Duquesne on Saturday.
3. Dayton Flyers (Avg: 3.40)
The Flyers fall all the way back into the 3 spot this week after barely managing to win 1 of 2 games. Dayton squeaked out a road win over Saint Louis but then fell at home to injured Rhode Island. The Flyers move to 12-4 in conference play and 22-6 overall. They’ve lost 3 of their last 4. This week, Dayton will go on the road to face off against Richmond on Tuesday before hosting VCU on Saturday.
4. St. Bonaventure Bonnies (Avg: 3.60)
St. Bonaventure stays in the 4 spot this week after winning both games it played. The Bonnies took down Duquesne at home and then barely got past Massachusetts at home. They’re now 12-4 in conference play and 20-7 overall. They’ve won 8 of their last 9. This week, the Bonnies will take on St. Joe’s in Rochester on Wednesday and Saint Louis on the road on Saturday.
5. George Washington Colonials (Avg: 5.00)
George Washington stays in the 5 spot this week after the Colonials won 1 of the 2 games they played. They took down Richmond on the road but then failed to get a home win over VCU. George Washington now stands at 10-6 in conference play and 21-8 overall. They’ll finish the season with a home game against George Mason on Tuesday and then a road contest with Davidson on Saturday.
6. Davidson Wildcats (Avg: 6.00)
Davidson stays in the 6 spot this week after winning 1 of the 2 games it played. The Wildcats took down Rhode Island at home but then went on the road and lost to Fordham. They’re now 9-7 in conference play and 17-10 overall. This upcoming week, the Wildcats will have a tough slate as they go on the road to play VCU on Wednesday and then return home to host George Washington on Saturday.
7. Rhode Island Rams (Avg: 7.00)
The Rams stay in the 7 spot this week after they went 1 in 2 in the games they played. They lost on the road to Davidson but then turned around and got an enormous road win over the Dayton Flyers. Rhode Island now stands at 8-8 in conference play and 16-13 overall. This week, the Rams will host Massachusetts on Thursday and then finish the season with a road game against Fordham on Saturday.
8. Richmond Spiders (Avg: 8.20)
The Spiders remain in the 8 spot this week after going 1 and 2 in the games they played. Richmond lost at home to George Washington but bounced back with a road win over Duquesne. The Spiders are now 7-9 in conference play and 15-13 overall. They’ll return home this week to face Dayton on Tuesday, and then they’ll finish the season with a road game against George Mason on Saturday.
9. Duquesne Dukes (Avg: 9.40)
The Dukes stay in the 9 spot this week, though they lost both games they played yet again. Duquesne lost on the road to St. Bonaventure and then at home to Richmond. The Dukes are now 5-11 in the conference and 15-14 overall. This week, they’ll host Fordham at home on Wednesday and then go on the road to face off against the St. Joseph’s Hawks on Saturday.
9. Fordham Rams (Avg: 9.40)
The Rams shoot all the way up into the 9 spot this week and tie Duquesne after winning both games they played. Fordham beat La Salle on the road and took down Davidson at home. The Rams sit at 6-10 in conference play and 15-12 overall. This week, they’ll go on the road to take on Duquesne on Wednesday and then return home to face off against Rhode Island on Saturday.
11. Saint Louis Billikens (Avg: 11.00)
The Billikens move into the 11 spot this week despite losing both games they played. Saint Louis lost an overtime battle against Dayton at home and then fell on the road to St. Joseph’s. The Billikens are now 5-11 in conference play and 10-18 overall. They’ll try to finish the season strong when they go on the road to play La Salle on Wednesday and then return home to play St. Bonaventure on Saturday.
12. George Mason Patriots (Avg: 12.40)
The Patriots move up into the 12 spot this week after pulling off one of the better wins of their season. George Mason won at home against VCU but then went on the road and lost to La Salle. The Patriots are now 4-12 in conference play and 10-19 overall. They’ll play George Washington on the road on Tuesday and then Richmond at home on Saturday.
13. Massachusetts Minutemen (Avg: 12.60)
Massachusetts falls back into the 13 spot this week after losing both games it played. The Minutemen lost at home to St. Joseph’s and then fell on the road against St. Bonaventure. Massachusetts is now 5-11 in conference play and 12-16 overall. This week, the Minutemen will go on the road to play Rhode Island on Thursday before returning home to face La Salle on Saturday.
14. La Salle Explorers (Avg: 14.00)
La Salle remains in last place, this week, as the unanimous pick once again. The Explorers lost at home against Fordham but then bounced back with a home win over George Mason. They’re now just 3-13 in the conference and 7-20 overall. They’ll take on Saint Louis at home on Wednesday and then go on the road to do battle with Massachusetts on Saturday.
