Game of the Night
St. Bonaventure Bonnies 83, St. Joseph’s Hawks 73
In the stunner of the night, St. Bonaventure upset St. Joe’s on home court, taking down the Hawks behind a career-high 31 points from Jaylen Adams. The Bonnies led for much of the game, and only turned the ball over twice in the full forty minutes. This win boosts St. Bona to 14-6 (6-3 A-10) and drops tourney hopeful St. Joe’s to 18-4 (7-2 A-10).
The main takeaway here is that this is a devastating loss for the Hawks. After winning seven straight games, SJU was finally “in” for most bracket projections. Now with this loss, they will fall on the wrong side of the bubble in next week’s rankings.
For St. Bonaventure, this has the opportunity to be a big momentum-building win. While the Bonnies are definitely a longshot to make the tournament, we’ll see if they can use this game as a springboard for the rest of the season.

VCU Rams 88, La Salle Explorers 70
All. They. Do. Is. Win.

George Mason Patriots 78, Richmond Spiders 74
It took some late-game free throws, but George Mason closed out Richmond in a very solid conference victory. Jaire Grayer led the Patriots with 20 points while Otis Livingston scored 20 of his own. Richmond was led by T.J. Cline, who scored 29 points. Overall, Richmond shot 38.8% from the field, which put them in an offensive funk for much of the game. Be it not for Cline, the Spiders would have lost this game in a much uglier fashion.

The third place A10 team losing to the fourth place A10 team is NOT “devastating.” This is not a 2-bid league and a top team absolutely can absorb a loss like that and still get a bid. That’s absurd.
