George Mason 92, Saint Louis 79
George Mason picked up its first league win of the year on Sunday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis. The Patriots, led by Marquise Moore’s 22 points, also picked up their first road win this season. Though Mason led 68-63 with just over six minutes to play, the Patriots began to run away with the game. Jaire Grayer buried a 3 which started a 10-2 run; George Mason never looked back.
George Mason went 12-12 from the line down the stretch and ran away with their first conference win of the year. 92 points for Mason was their highest output of the season by 17 points. The Patriots scored 29 points above their A10 worst 63.4 points per game. The Mason starters put out 72 points on the day. Mason played with energy for the whole 40 minutes helping them earn their first A10 win.
Marquise Moore doubled his scoring average, putting up 22 points to go with 10 rebounds. Also for the Patriots, Otis Livingston II scored 17 points and had 6 assists. For Saint Louis, Mark Crawford dropped 22 points while Jermaine Bishop and Ash Yacoubou each scored 15 in a losing effort. George Mason (7-11, 1-4 A10) moved out of the gutter in the Atlantic Ten conference, tying conference wins with four other teams, including Saint Louis (6-11, 1-4 A10).
George Mason is set to take on Fordham (10-6, 1-4 A10) at Rose Hill Gymnasium in the Bronx at 7pm on Wednesday Night. Saint Louis will stay home where they will face Davidson (11-5, 3-2 A10) at 8pm on Wednesday.
