#21 George Washington Colonials (10-1) vs. DePaul Blue Demons (5-6)

George Washington is hot right now. After an early season upset win over Virginia, the Colonials have continued to roll, winning four straight since their lone loss to #24 Cincinnati in late November. Forward Tyler Cavanaugh has been the clear star, and is averaging 16.3 PPG and 7.5 RPG this season. The junior has not yet had a game this season in which he hasn’t scored double-digit points. Now that’s pretty impressive.

He leads GW against a DePaul team that took Northwestern to overtime on Saturday. While the Blue Demons are clearly bottom of the pack in the Big East, they have enough fight to compete with teams out of their league. Myke Henry leads the team with 14.2 PPG. However, guard Eli Cain has proven to be a sharpshooter, hitting 53.3% of his threes thus far. With the high powered Colonial offense, DePaul will need to keep up the pace on their end of the floor.

All things considered, GW should win big here. While the Colonials are favored by only six points, they should open up a bigger margin if they keep grinding like they have the past month.

Prediction: George Washington 85, DePaul 73

Elsewhere in A10 Action:

George Mason Patriots (5-7)  vs. Wagner Seahawks (6-3)

TV: A10 Network (Stream) | Tipoff: Noon ET | Line: N/A

The Patriots have been far from impressive this season, off to another sub .500 start. Otis Livingston II leads all scorers with 11.0 PPG and averages a team high 33.1 minutes per game. On the other side of the court is Wagner, of the North East Conference. The Seahawks may be underrated, they already have wins over Rider and American this season. Could Wagner sneak in and pull the upset? Don’t put it past them. I’m going with the Hawks in this one.

Presbyterian Blue Hose (5-6) vs. Richmond Spiders (7-3)

TV: A10 Network (Stream) | Tipoff: Noon ET | Line: N/A

This one will be a battle of two big time scorers: Presbyterian’s DeSean Murray (21.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG) and Richmond’s Terry Allen (20.7 PPG, 8.5 RPG). Richmond has gotten off to a hot start this season and looks to be an NCAA tourney team this season, which means they should roll in a non-conference game like this. The Spiders are too deep and too talented to lose to the Blue Hose (what is that??) at home. Richmond will win easily.

St. Joseph’s Hawks (8-2) vs. Virginia Tech Hokies (8-3)

TV: ESPN3 | Tipoff: 1:00 ET | Line: JOES -2.5

This will be one of the more competitive matchups this Tuesday afternoon, and it’s taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. St. Joe’s is led by DeAndre Bembry (15.9 PPG, 7.9 RPG), who has been looking extra flashy as of late. Va. Tech counters with a star in their own in Zach LeDay (15.4 PPG, 9.4 RPG), who is two games removed from a double-double against Lamar. This game could swing wither way, but I’m gonna go with the Hawks. Hey, a little A10 bias doesn’t hurt, right?

Fordham Rams (9-1) vs. Boston College Eagles (5-6)

TV: ESPN3 | Tipoff: 3:30 ET | Line: FOR -3.5

Is Fordham a contender, or a pretender? Are dropping their opener to UT-Arlington, the Rams have won nine straight and sit near the top of the A10 rankings. However, they have yet to grab a quality win. While Boston College has looked like one of the weaker Power 5 conference teams this season, they would count as a quality win for this Fordham team. The player to watch in this one? Mandell Thomas. The Rams guard is averaging 17.3 PPG this season. Expect a big game from him here. After all, this one is being played at the Barclays. Welcome to the big stage.

#13 Miami Hurricanes (FL) (9-1) vs. LaSalle Explorers (4-4)

TV: CBS Sports Network | Tipoff: 5:00 ET | Line: MIA -16.5

Eek. This is going to be ugly. Miami has proven themselves to be one of the genuine top tier teams in the nation. Angel Rodriguez is an underrated player, and when hot is among the best guards in the nation. As for LaSalle? They’re on a three game skid and just got blown out my #9 Villanova 76-47. A team like Miami is in unchartered waters; the Explorers might want to search for a win elsewhere.

Rhode Island Rams (7-4) vs. Old Dominion Monarchs (5-6)

TV: ASN (American Sports Net) | Tipoff: 7:00 ET | Line: ODU -2.5

Hassan Martin leads the Rams into a matchup against ODU, a challenger from Conference USA. URI looks like NCAA tournament material and beating the Monarchs is an essential step in that direction. Old Dominion is a top 100 team in the KenPom rankings, so don’t be phased by the sub .500 record. Still, I like the Rams to win here.

Buffalo Bulls (6-5) vs. VCU Rams (5-5)

TV: CSN | Tipoff: 7:00 ET | Line: VCU -13

VCU has lost some close games this season, including one on Saturday to ranked Cincinnati. They look to rebound when they host Buffalo Tuesday night. The Bulls’ Lamonte Bearden was recently named MAC-East Player of the Week after an 18 point, 7 rebound performance against Montana this past week. Mo Alie-Cox will need to play well, but VCU should win this one, as they are favored big time. I’m rolling with the Rams.

Miami Redhawks (OH) (6-5) vs. Dayton Flyers (8-2)

TV: A10 Network/TWC-Ohio | Tipoff: 7:00 ET | Line: DAY -15.5

This should be a walk in the park for Archie Miller’s Flyers. Despite being upset by Chattanooga last week, the Flyers still look like one of the top three teams in the conference along with George Washington and Richmond. Miami already has losses to Tennessee Tech and IPFW, so this should be no test for Dayton. I like the Flyers to cover the line, and more.

St. Bonaventure Bonnies (7-2) vs. Sienna Saints (7-4)

TV: N/A | Tipoff: 7:00 ET | Line: SIE -3

The Bonnies look to add a non-conference win against the Saints. The entertainment value? Very little, but Marcus Posley is pretty darn good. I like St. Bonaventure in this one. They simply outmatch Sienna in talent.
