Week 9 A-10 Women’s Basketball Power Rankings

Week two of A-10 play is now in the books and we’ve had quite the shakeup! There’s a new #1 in town this week, after Rhode Island went on the road Wednesday and dominated UMass, 75-68 (although the game really wasn’t even that close). Saint Joseph’s continues to take care of business, as the Hawks easily dispatched Saint Louis on Saturday afternoon. This week also sees jumps from both Georges: Mason and GW, and the Patriots move back into 6th place after a 2-0 week, which included a dominant win over Duquesne, while the Colonials also move up into 5th place this week after a close loss to Saint Joseph’s and a road win against the Bonnies.

Davidson had both of their contests this week canceled due to a COVID outbreak within the Wildcats’ program. As a result, A-10 seeding for Davidson will be determined by win percentage (as will now for La Salle and Richmond, the two teams who had games canceled against Davidson this week). Hopefully the ‘Cats will return to the court on Wednesday, when they are scheduled to play at Dayton.

Speaking of the week ahead, we have another monster game on tap with major A-10 title implications, as undefeated Saint Joseph’s will travel to Amherst to face UMass on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 on ESPN+.
