VCU’s Ahmed Hamdy considering leaving the program

According to Marc Davis, VCU’s Ahmed Hamdy has requested his release from the school and will look at other options for his final year of eligibility. However, Hamdy indicated that his decision to leave the school is not final, and he’s still considering staying with the Rams.

Hamdy, along with Justin Tillman, would make up the core of VCU’s returning big men. The Rams also bring in Marcus Santos-Silva, Sean Mobley, and Mayan Kiir in their 2017 recruiting class. As a junior, Ahmed Hamdy averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
