In case you didn’t have enough reason to be excited about Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns coming to the Siegel Center this year, it’ll be broadcasted on ESPN2. The game on Tuesday, December 5th at 7ET should be one of the more anticipated VCU home games in the last decade — and that’s saying something. Not only will Texas be a solid non-conference opponent, representing a great opportunity for the Rams, but it’s a chance to beat former head coach Shaka Smart who left to take the Texas job just 3 years ago.

I’m sure I’m not the only one excited about this matchup, and I can only imagine just how loud it’s going to be in Richmond, Virginia on this Tuesday night. Also noteworthy, VCU will have a shot at facing former head coach Will Wade and the LSU Tigers in this year’s non-conference slate. Check out that full schedule here.
