Michael Gilmore of VCU has transferred to Miami (FL) according to ESPN. He will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out one year with the Hurricanes.
Gilmore averaged 3.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game last season with the Rams. The sophomore scored 12 points and pulled down 8 boards in VCU’s second round NCAA Tournament loss to Oklahoma. Though his departure is unfortunate for VCU, the Rams still have a loaded frontcourt with Mo Alie-Cox, Justin Tillman, and Ahmed Hamdy-Mohamed.
