#5 The Commonwealth has found out what region they are in and who they will face. They will play #4 The Rhody Way in the Syracuse Region on Monday, July 24th at 9pm. This game will be televised on ESPN U. The opening game for The Commonwealth is a rivalry match-up between two Atlantic 10 teams. The Rhody Way has players from the 2017 and 2018 NCAA Appearances which was the final two seasons of the Dan Hurley era at Rhode Island before Hurley was hired by UConn. The Rhody Way has Fatts Russell and E.C. Matthews as some of the big names on the team. The winner of the match-up between The Commonwealth and The Rhody Way will face the winner between TBT reigning champs, #1 Blue Collar U (Buffalo Alumni), and the #8 Big 5 (Villanova, Saint Joseph’s, Temple, UPenn, and La Salle alumni) on Wednesday, July 26th at 6pm.
The Commonwealth will be hosting a Twitter Spaces tonight at 8pm with a breakdown of the TBT bracket. The Spaces will be hosted by Adam Frenier with Mike Mannix, Chaz Williams, Jake Pavorsky of the TBT, and Andrew Haner of Zoom the TBT.
#7 Ram Nation (VCU alumni) will be facing #2 Sideline Cancer in the West Virginia Region on Tuesday, July 25th at 4pm. The winner of this game will face the winner of #3 Challenge ALS: Florida and #6 Dawg Town (Georgetown alumni) on Thursday, July 27th at 9pm.
#1 Red Scare (Dayton alumni) will face #8 India Rising in the Dayton Region on Wednesday, July 26th at 8pm. The Red Scare earn the number one seed in the Dayton Region after they made it to the semifinals in last year’s tournament. The winner between Red Scare and India Rising will face #4 Carmen’s Crew (Ohio State alumni) and Team Overtime on Friday, July 28th at 8pm.
Kaily “KG” Godek is a current student at Western New England University. She has been a supporter of UMass Athletics for over 15 years.
