BROOKLYN- St. Joseph’s Phil Martelli didn’t give much insight into where he though his team stood after taking down George Washington in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
“I have us as a 4…we’re a 4 seed in the A-10 Tournament. There’s been no talk other than that,” said Martelli.
Whether the coach knows it or not, we can be pretty certain in saying St. Joseph’s is off to the NCAA Tournament. With some solid wins in the regular season, a very impressive track record on the road, and now a win in the A-10 Tournament, the Hawks should be dancing come Selection Sunday. ESPN’s latest Bracketology had the Hawks in the Tournament as a 9 seed; this win might even bump them up to a an 8 seed. Others took to Twitter after St. Joseph’s win over George Washington.
Saint Joseph’s beats GW to advance to play Dayton in Atlantic 10 semis. Hawks will be in NCAA Tournament for second time in three years

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports seems pretty certain that St. Joseph’s has a spot in the field of 68. With the Hawks all but securing their bid, it seems safe to say that the Atlantic 10 will get at least two teams into the field. George Washington should be off to the NIT, and VCU and St. Bonaventure haven’t secured anything yet. Dayton, regardless of what happens during the rest of the A-10 Tournament, should be in. St. Joseph’s moves on to face the Flyers on Saturday in the A-10 Tournament semifinals.
