Sheldon Edwards Commits to Loyola Chicago

He’s a Rambler man just as his tweet states!

Sheldon Edwards who comes in as a very familiar face to our Loyola Ramblers has committed to Loyola this past Monday. Edwards comes after two years at MVC rival Valparaiso, where he developed a great role as sixth man for the team. This past year one could argue and I will, that he should have been sixth man of the year for the MVC but again UNI won a few more awards then they should have. But that’s just the type of impact Sheldon had this past season, averaging 11.4 points,4.2 rebounds,1.1 steals, 41 FG% per game. Edwards even knew how to light up the scoreboard against us both times this past year scoring 23 and 20 points in both games against the Ramblers, 23 tied for his career high. Edwards saw awards this past season winning captain of the MVC All-Bench and on the Most-Improved team.  Drew and staff have gotten this commitment as of right now to finalize the roster for next season and I am very excited to see how things shape out.

Edwards is a dynamic player, even having his own Sportscenter top 10 moment, who knows how to score when coming off the bench.  Now bench player is not a title I will give Sheldon right now because a lot of guys are coming to the team where Drew will have to find roles for everyone. Edwards has three years of eligibility left with two academic years and one extra because of covid-year. So a lot of room for even more growth for a player who saw tremendous scoring opportunities. For Sheldon a great insight is that for coming off the bench at Valpo, he had the 3rd most total minutes played. Excited to see the impact Sheldon Edwards can have to the team especially with 3 years for him to play.
