Massachusetts got some bad news on Wednesday, hearing that freshmen DeJon Jarreau and Brison Gresham will transfer from the program. Jarreau averaged 9.8 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game last season for the Minutemen. Gresham averaged 3.3 points and 3.2 rebounds last year. Both of these losses sting for the Minutemen, as Jarreau was expected to be Massachusetts’ leader next season, and Gresham was expected to be a key backcourt player. The loss of DeJon Jarreau in particular is poignant, as the rising sophomore was expected to be one of the better guards in the league next season. Matt McCall will look to reload and rebuild before next season as he now has 4 open scholarships to fill.
UMass freshmen DeJon Jarreau and Brison Gresham will transfer, per release. Long line for these two.
