Philadelphia, PA – The Saint Joe’s Hawks beat the UMass Minutemen, 74-68, on Saturday 1/21. Saint Joe’s was led by guards Erik Reynolds II and Cameron Brown, who each finished the game with 23 and 25 points respectively.
For Saint Joe’s, this was a game of two halves, two halves that were almost identical in nature. Both the first, and second, started out in what looked like a street fight. Both teams struggled to find shots and get points on the board. Yet, in each one, Saint Joe’s found a way to string a 10+ point run in order to pull away from the Minutemen. To UMass’s credit, they did start the second half strong, and closed the gap from the first half to take the lead at the 13 minute mark. However, they were quickly subdued by Saint Joe’s in a big run, one that secured another win for SJU in what is now a three game win streak.
