I think 16 patches will necessary, but you never know. Dayton, VCU, and St. Louis would leave for the Big East if asked as anyone in the A10 would. MArk Schmidt would probably date Margot Robbie if asked, but that probably isn't happening either.

If this CoC stuff has any legs, I wouldn’t expect anything formally announced until May or so. The CAA is notoriously punitive with its departing schools. Typically, they are barred from conference championships in all sports. No chance Charleston misses out on a chance for an NCAA auto bid with a solid hoops roster returning.

VCU and GMU, if you recall, made very sudden departures after CAA championships were wrapped.

I get why A10 fans don't want more A10 programs, but if scheduling is going to get harder as many power conferences go to 20 games, then it makes sense to add teams that have been stronger performers over the last decade or so.

If we ever want to get back to being an annual 3-4 bid league, our top programs need more Q1 & Q2 games on our schedule. It's risky adding teams with minimal history like CoC or Loyola, but here we are.

Let's go out and add Wichita and Murray State while we're at it. The Mountain West last year showed us it's still possible for a non power to secure multiple bids.

In an ideal world, we'd only have 10-12 teams, but that's never going to happen.
