Dayton lands 4-star recruit Kostas Antetokounmpo

Last night Dayton landed arguably the biggest commitment of the Archie Miller era. 2016 4-star prospect, Kostas Antetokounmpo announced via his Instagram that he will play his college ball for the Flyers. Antetokounmpo is the younger brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo, a NBA star for the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis has become known as “The Greek Freak” around the NBA for his insane dunks. Flyer fans should be happy to know Kostas shares some of the same incredible athleticism.

At the height of 6’9″ and with remarkable shot blocking ability, Kostas Antetokounmpo is one of the best young forwards in the country. He was recently selected to play on the U20 Greek national team and is excited about that opportunity. According to Scout, Antetokounmpo is a top 100 prospect in the country and No. 21 at his position of power forward. Antetokounmpo is also listed as the No. 2 player coming out of the state of Wisconsin.

Antetokounmpo joins 3-star guard Trey Landers as the only players in Dayton’s 2016 recruiting class. After the heartbreaking loss of shot blocking center Steve McElvene, Antetokounmpo should help fill the void of rim protection nicely. His stunning wingspan and athleticism will definitely be a big addition to the Flyers come this fall. If Antetokounmpo puts in the work behind the scenes, which is required when playing for Archie Miller, he has the chance to do some very special things. These types of recruits can help take Dayton to even further heights.
